I got to experience the Womens College World Series Championship Series between Oklahoma and Florida State. The energy on the field was palpable and contagious.
One thing that struck me was realizing that this was the pinnacle of the dreams for these ladies. They had worked and trained to get to this stage - the time they put in the weight room, in the batting cage, playing catch, pitchers honing their craft, shagging balls - and they were ready to leave it all on the field.
It was their dreams as little girls that gave meaning to everything they have endured and fueled their focus, determination, passion for the game. The discipline that these ladies have honed since they were little girls was a joy to watch.
